Ouch! That was definitely my hymen.

As I mentioned in another forum; last night my cherry was popped. (That means my hymen was torn/penetrated, for those who don't know).

I've seen some posts where girls were confused about whether they were experiencing a hymen tear or where it is. I hope my first-hand experience can help a bit:

Yes, it hurt and yes, it bled a bit (but not propotional to the pain). When my fiance first bumped against it, I got a good Idea of where it was at; right at the entrance of the vagina. Some people think it is deeper, but that is just because the penis first sinks into the folds of the vulva before hitting it. Believe me there is no getting into the vagina without goin past it.

When my fiance started to push harder, my sensation of exactly where it was got replaced with a localized shooting pain around that area (at this point, his penis was in my vulva, but blocked from entering my vagina).

I winced, he withdrew and re-postioned. When he pushed in again there was a repeat of the pain, and it seem to go in little further..almost crooked as if one side of the hymen had torn or stretched around just part of the head of his penis to let it in. There was still the general pain, in that one area also a tingling sensation. At this point he stopped pushing and asked me if I was sure I wanted him to keep going...Not sure what I was thinking, but didn't answer; instead just grabbed his butt cheeks and thrust my pelvis up toward him.

Holy Jupiter!! There was in one instant the kind of pain that makes you see stars, then the sensation of his shaft sliding deeper into my vagina and the tingling take-your-breathe-away feeling of the head of his penis rubbing againt the inside of my vaginal walls.

The pain faded to soreness, then numbness as the pleasure of having him inside took prevelance. There was once again a sharp pinching-like pain when his head passed by the opening of my vagina again on his withdrawl. And, a general tenderness right around there for the next 24 hours.

I should mention though, that I'm not sure every girl would have the same experience with thier hymen as I had. I made deliberate decisions throughout my life to avoid damaging my hymen, including: No tampons or pelvic exams (both of which will now become part of my life), no fingering, no dildos, or any other kind of penetration, and caution in sports, bike-riding, etc. I have no regrets enduring some inconvenience (Pad vs. Tampons, etc.) for the chance at losing what I will never have again. This was my gift to a wonderful man I intend to spend my life with.

My finace was married once before, and is more experienced than me...he said his previous wife (also a virgin) used tampons and had regular exams, and on their first time, there was nothing special--he keeps going on how amazing OUR first time was, and how he'll never forget it. Guess I'm a keeper :-)

Answer

My guy was didn't seen at all freaked or grossed out by the blood. He was only concerned that I wasn't hurt or in too much pain. One thing I remember is that whenever it was obvious from my facial expressions that I was feeling the pain of my hymen tearing, he kept telling me how beautiful I was. Which is kind of funny, cause I'd been jealous of some of the absolutely gorgeous women he's dated in the past--it was almost like he was trying to tell me that because I was a virgin, I was more beautiful to him.

I'm not sure how a younger guy would react; my fiance is 12 years older than me, and handles most everything maturely. I think that is really important, I was stuck on younger guys and frustrated with their stupidity for a long time. Then one day I suddenly realized this guy in his 30's is damn good looking and in better shape than most of the 20 year olds I know. Plus, owning a big house and having a six figure income isn't exactly a drawback either. Hmm...the affection of a boyfriend, and the patience of a father; it's a no-brainer...I wish I would have figured this sooner! (Of course, if leaves me for a younger woman 10 years from now, he's dead meat!!)

As far as the blood, there was some on his penis, a bit more on me, but mostly it wound up on the bed. We actually kept the blood-stained sheet. (Sounds weird, I know. But, in Biblical times that was how a bride would prove she was virgin on her wedding night. We're not Jewish, and don't really know what we'll do with it in the future, it seemed cool to have some token to remember the night by.)

Wow, that is quite an account.

Not too pry...but, you seemed to have put a lot of weight on the first time experience....how has the relationship, etc. worked out since then?

still a piece left?

Flipper, that feeling that you had of a 'piece of the hymen being stretched, and pain in that area' that is still happening during sex and tampons...

I don't know what to do? My husband and I have had sex about 12 times now, and it always hurts when he enters and withdraws. Last week on my period I put a tampon in and was in CONSTANT pain because this one side of my vagina felt like it was being 'pulled' (no other way to describe it)...

don't really know what to do...
