Why are teens becoming so sexually active these days?

I'm a guy, and I admit it bothers me how teens are becoming more comfortable with having sex. What happened to waiting for true love? Why don't more people save themselves for their soul mate?

I guess I'm just worried I'm never going to find my ideal mate. I had sex in high school with one girl, and I regret it because I wish I waited till I found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I don't want a wife who has made love to another man. That bothers me. So I'm disappointed in myself for slipping and having sex in high school. I feel bad though - I feel like I'm the only person who feels this way.

The way society is heading, I doubt I'll ever find a woman whom I want to marry, and who who has never had sex before. I'm afraid I'm going to spend my life alone, because I don't want to settle for anything less than my ideal woman. And my ideal woman is someone who respects me, whom I get along with, and who has waited till she found me to have sex. I fear being alone.

That frustrates me.

Hey, Sweetie.

I'm proud of you for wanting to wait! It takes a real man to do that, seriously.
I wish there were more guys like you out there, because I'd have an easier time finding a boyfriend!

Umm...I really don't know what else to say to make you feel better, except that I feel exactly the same way you do. So you're not alone.

Don't change for anyone. You seem like a sweet man, and you shouldn't lose that for anyone else's gain.

Just a quick note on this one- It is good to have standards, and it is good not to lower your standards. HOWEVER THERE IS ONE STUPID STANDARD ---- THE DOUBLE STANDARD......You've had sex with one person...double standards are stupid...don't be double standard....If you want to say that you want someone who has been with one person or less that is fine.....but double standards are stupid!!!!!!!!!!

Why teens are becoming so sexually active these days...

I'm responding to this as a teenage girl. (I go boarding school, so for me it may be a little different than the average teen) 1. To fit in, For guys you become "the man" once you have sex. For girls there have been quite a few times when I've walked into one of my friend's room and one of the other girls in the room has made a comment such as, be careful we have a virgin in the room, or don't scare her girls she still has virgin ears, ect. 2. It's no longer "cool" to be a virgin, you are looked at as a goody-good 3. You think you're in love with the person your with and/or you don't want to lose them. 4. We're looking for love in someone because we couldn't find it at home. 5.Attention For guys you once again become "the man" and for girls the other girls come and want to talk to you about it, what was it like, did it hurt, ect. Plus most of the people who do are secretly hoping thier parents will find out and pay attention to them, even if it is negative... It is sad but society doesn't look down on sex without marriage, so some people don't think it means that much anymore. Maybe those were some of the answers you were looking for, hope it was helpful.

I choose to save myself

I am a virgin, and Ive chosen to stay that way until I get married. I am 17. I'm going to wait , even though sometimes my friends laugh at me an poke fun because I am. Of course there are some people who had no say in the matter whether they stayed a virgin or not, and some have had less than ideal conditions for staying a virgin and, I won't judge them because of these things life hasn't been kind to everyone, and I belive everyone wants someone to love them and deserves true love whether you're a virgin or not. So,I am going to speak just for myself when I say " I am going to stay a virgin until marrage because I want to give my husband something no one else has touched" And I want the same from him but, If it turns out that I am not his first I'm not going to let that stop me from marrying the love of my life.
